Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer looking to lead major water infrastructure projects within a dynamic joint venture? Our client, a collaboration between two leading contractors, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to oversee key water infrastructure projects in the Thames Water region.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects, from concept design through to construction, installation, and commissioning.
2. Develop and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
3. Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with electrical engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
5. Provide expert technical guidance to resolve mechanical engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Ensure that all mechanical engineering activities align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.
7. Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
8. Mentor and develop junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Requirements:
1. Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a track record of leading complex infrastructure projects, ideally within the water sector or similar industries.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and engineering best practices, with experience in designing and implementing large-scale mechanical systems.
3. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering) and professional certifications.
6. Familiarity with the Thames Water Framework or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
