Sulis Hospital stands as a sister hospital to the Royal United Hospital Bath and is an integral part of our regional healthcare family. We are one of the first independent hospitals to be owned by an NHS Trust.
We're significantly expanding our facilities with a brand new £25m wing at Sulis Hospital. The purpose is to provide improved access for NHS patients; this is in addition to our private healthcare provision.
We are calling the new wing The Sulis Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SEOC). This new centre will focus on improved access for NHS patients to high-quality year-round elective orthopaedic care, providing care for patients from across BaNES, Swindon, Wiltshire, and the wider region on behalf of The Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The centre will include two additional modular theatres, additional inpatient beds, additional day surgery pods and the conversion of two existing theatres to laminar flow.
We have opportunities for enthusiastic Healthcare Support Worker to join our busy Theatre team who can demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills, and commitment to deliver the highest standards of patient care.
As a Theatre Healthcare Support Worker at Sulis you will act as a valued member of our multi-disciplinary Theatre team and will be responsible for supporting the clinical team in the delivery of safe, high quality patient focused care, under the direction of Registered Practitioners.
You will be responsible for ensuring resources within the theatre department are used to optimum effect to ensure the highest quality patient care. Preparing the operating theatre for surgery; Daily checking of stocks and providing assistance to professionals when performing specific procedure and clinical treatments for patients.
Acting as the support worker for patients undergoing surgery you will provide a high standard of patient centered care whilst ensuring patients retain their dignity and individuality. You will demonstrate your competence in the role with your effective communication skills, ability to demonstrate fluency and clarity at all levels and your positive manner and tact with patients, their relatives, carers, and visitors.

Weekend and on-call commitment.
This role requires DBS clearance.
