UHDB is seeking to recruit a Speciality Doctor in Rheumatology to join the well established Rheumatology Department at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital.
The department’s work involves the assessment, follow-up and monitoring of patients with inflammatory arthritis. Other diagnostic groupings such as the connective tissue diseases, metabolic bone diseases and osteoarthritis are well represented.
The Rheumatology Department is also supported by registrars and Clinical Nurse Specialists and has access to specialist physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Joint and soft tissue injections as well as medical infusions are carried out.
This is a part time (1 PA) post working at St Oswalds and Florence Nightingale Community Hospitals
The appointee will be responsible for:
· Providing a comprehensive service alongside consultant colleagues for diagnosis & treatment of patients referred to rheumatology.
· Responsible for the continuing care & treatment of patients in your care
· Active participation in undergraduate & post graduate education
· Provision of cover for your middle grade colleagues during reasonable periods of leave including care of patients.
· Participate in clinical audit
· Commitment to taking part in annual appraisal process
· Responsible for compliance with personal continuing professional development requirements
· Responsible for maintaining awareness of & acting in accordance with professional guidelines
· Exceptional requirements to undertake additional duties for limited periods within geographical area specified above or undertake duties at other hospitals in the event of a major disaster or incident
