The Asset Maintenance - Field Performance Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant operation and maintenance of all ICA assets and the health and safety of technicians within a specific geographical area for the water function. Responsibilities include ensuring efficiency, productivity, standards, and quality to maintain compliance, serviceability, and effectiveness within the wastewater function.
You will lead, manage, and develop a team of approximately 20 members, overseeing performance, resources, and budgets with a focus on succession planning. The role involves 25% people management and 75% operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a budget of approximately £2m for your area.
* Oversee acceptance and operation of capital delivery projects upon completion.
* Monitor the performance of ICA assets across around 1200 sites.
* Follow established procedures regarding finance and information requests.
* Set annual targets in collaboration with the Area Manager, with autonomy in achievement strategies.
* Resolve routine issues using experience and judgment.
* Address customer issues and site failures, escalating pollution incidents as per guidelines.
* Drive change and innovation to improve compliance and productivity.
* Communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders to facilitate change and resolve issues.
* Collaborate with other District Managers on contract issues and problem-solving.
* Interact with external customers to notify and resolve issues.
* Manage commercial risks related to contractor engagement.
* Ensure compliance with public health, regulatory, and legislative standards.
* Maintain awareness of ISO14001 requirements and ensure environmental compliance.
* Represent the company to external regulatory bodies and media.
* Manage events and incidents in your area, including out-of-hours responses.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Leadership/management experience with teams of similar size.
* Experience in instrumentation, control, or automation disciplines.
* Technical management skills.
* Experience in a process-driven, regulated industry such as oil & gas, manufacturing, pharma, or food production.
* Technical qualification in a related field.
* Budget and financial management skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive approach.
* Excellent communication skills across all levels, including explaining technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
* Passion for team development.
