What You Will Do:
1. Conduct detailed assessments of children with speech, language, and communication difficulties.
2. Utilise a variety of tools and techniques to assess children's communication skills, including language, speech, and cognitive abilities.
3. Identify specific areas of need related to speech, language, social communication, or swallowing.
4. Develop individualised therapy plans to address specific communication and language difficulties.
5. Provide one-on-one or small group therapy sessions tailored to meet the needs of children with SEN.
6. Design and implement interventions that support the development of communication skills.
7. Work closely with other professionals within the SEN team, such as teachers and psychologists, to provide holistic support for children.
8. Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings and reviews to ensure a coordinated approach in supporting children with SEN.
9. Offer advice, guidance, and support to parents and carers on strategies to improve communication both at home and in school.
10. Provide training and resources to families and staff to help reinforce therapeutic interventions.
11. Contribute to the development and review of children's Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
12. Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress for each child.
13. Stay up to date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in paediatric speech and language therapy.
