The team sits within the sales function of the employee benefits line of business, this team is responsible for looking after a designated panel of brokers and are targeted to win business from the clients of the brokers on that panel.
The Opportunity

The focus of the Account Manager role is to promote and sell MetLife’s Group Risk product range over the phone to Intermediaries authorized with MetLife in order to deliver API, KPI, and penetration targets, whilst simultaneously delivering exceptional customer service and living MetLife’s values in everything you do.
The Account Manager role is about building key relationships with a panel of advisers and engaging them with MetLife’s protection product. You will be there to support, motivate and drive a panel of advisers and will be the front-line support for MetLife.
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
1. Accountable and compensated based upon selling to contacts within a designated accounts panel.
2. Understand the knowledge, background and target client base of each adviser so you can support their sales targets.
3. Develop and agree the advisers MetLife sales target in order to deliver agreed API/penetration targets.
4. Apply market knowledge to identify and focus activity on contacts which deliver high volume/value to MetLife.
5. Influence distributor decision-making through demonstrating a full working knowledge of MetLife’s products, services and technology, and a high-level knowledge of the market and competitor products. Actively promote MetLife products by demonstrating benefit to the Intermediary’s customers.
6. Document sales activity in line with agreed business plan. Use MetLife’s customer relationship management system, systematically capture, maintain and use Intermediary information to inform future sales activity.
7. Identify and obtain the support required to deliver agreed targets (resources, training, etc).
8. Achieve all set talk time, proactive call and webinar targets to ensure the potential of the panel is fulfilled.
9. Complete webinars and face-to-face visits when this will add to the adviser’s knowledge, sales and retention figures.
10. Ensure that the service/product sold is appropriate to the Intermediary’s business/customer opportunity.
11. Achieve best practice in compliance and sales skills against agreed benchmarks.
12. A proven team player with the ability to manage your time and workload whilst dealing with a variety of tasks.
13. To share your knowledge, best practices and ideas with others.
14. Excellent call handling skills; to listen, build rapport, acknowledge and deal effectively and efficiently with all adviser enquiries.

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
1. Salesperson with significant prior experience in a professional telephone-based sales environment, with a proven and a demonstrated ability to sell.
2. Strong knowledge of Group Risk products and their usage in the market. Detailed technical knowledge of the MetLife protection product range and its application and sales opportunities for customers (Intermediaries).
3. Current knowledge of competitor offerings.
