Permanent contract | £25,584 to £27,269 per annum (Scale E) | 37 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich
Norfolk County Council invites you to be part of our dynamic Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team. We're seeking a Senior Business Officer (SBO) to play a vital role in triaging calls to the wider team, processing and completing DoLS application and authorisations. Business Support is an essential and pivotal part of our team The DoLS Team works closely with care homes and hospitals, members of the public and advocacy organisations, and other Norfolk County Council colleagues. The team are responsible for assessing individuals who lack capacity to consent to their care arrangements. The SBO will assist with processing new referrals into the team, allocating requests to other relevant professionals and organisations and oversee the administration process and completion of applications in a timely manner. Your main tasks will involve working with our other SBO with business process and the management of these tasks. You will be responsible for answering and signposting calls, processing referrals, monitoring inboxes, procurement and update the distribution of work to and from external professionals, data input and updating patient records on Liquid Logic (LAS); supporting /training business support staff. You will be a team player with great working knowledge of using Teams, Excel, data entry and Microsoft outlook. Multitasking is essential. You must be flexible and adaptive to new ways of working, have a positive attitude and respect for sensitive data. Candidates must possess resilience, empathy, and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations. This is an exciting time to join the DoLS Team as we continue to develop the service. This is a hybrid working post, with a blend of remote and office-based working, currently from County Hall.
