More about the role itself… The Pharmacy Systems Governance team is a relatively new and fast developing team which is integral to the Superintendent Pharmacist’s Office, supporting current and future development of our pharmacy systems. Working as part of this team you will shape the future of our most innovative system designs with recent examples such as ‘Scan to Accuracy Check’, ‘Clinical Assessment’ and ‘Assisted Due Date Dispensing’. Many more great ideas are on the road map and will need your support. You will ensure the clinical and regulatory requirements of future and innovative pharmacy systems and practice are identified, understood by all stakeholders involved in the development work and delivered in the deployed systems. About the role As a Pharmacy Systems Governance Specialist (L6) you will report into the Pharmacy Systems Governance Manager (L5) and offer support the wider SPO team in risk management and ensure that new initiatives are developed and implemented effectively and safely. Other main responsibilities include: • Provision of expert legal and professional advice to help develop interventions in pharmacy and healthcare • Create, review and monitor SPO specific materials, checklists and audits to launch and maintain innovation activities • Develop, maintain Standard Operating Procedures, including supporting the ongoing maintenance of the digital SOP system • Support risk management processes and assist for Clinical Safety Officer regulatory activities, including drafting documentation ready for approval • Work with Columbus, IT and Pharmacy Operations teams to support system design and deployment • Bring your understanding of store systems and current reality to challenge proposals and seek solutions • Support The Pharmacy Helpdesk team, including directly providing professional and regulatory advice What you’ll need to have • You are a registered pharmacy technician or pharmacist with experience of working in pharmacy and with a good understanding of pharmacy operations and regulations • Must have an interest in technology and digital innovation • Ideally experience in managing or coordinating projects and use applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word • An excellent communicator, able to advise internal and external stakeholders on regulatory and technical issues • Highly organised, delivering projects involving multiple stakeholders • Has attention to detail and leaves no stone unturned; produce work to a high standard • Form and develop effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels including 3rd party companies in order to support future service development • Must have a good command of the English language, grammar and spelling with articulate communication skills (both written and verbal), a high concern for order and quality, be able to work to tight deadlines, prioritise effectively and deliver on time Our benefits Boots Retirement Savings Plan Discretionary annual bonus Generous employee discounts Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child Flexible benefits scheme including holiday buying, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and more.
