Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer based out of Barking, covering the Essex and Northeast London area on a permanent basis.
The main purpose of the role will be to provide onsite customer support to a range of machinery within the region, with a primary focus on keeping the machinery in peak operating condition through scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Investigate, diagnose and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment.
2. Service a wide variety of machines both on and off site.
3. Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and solve problems.
4. Complete job cards to a high standard promptly and within a given timeframe.
5. Complete paperwork and timesheets in a timely manner.
6. Request parts efficiently and effectively.
7. Good customer service skills.
8. Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
9. Supervise Apprentices, when required, to ensure that a high quality of work and safe working procedures are maintained.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant procedures when repairing and inspecting equipment.
11. Present a professional image at all times.
12. Take responsibility for the health and safety of self, colleagues, and customers in line with the Company health and Safety Policy.
13. Ensure that own tools are safe and legal to use.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:
1. Solid Mechanical aptitude.
2. Ability to service a wide range of heavy tracked plant JCB machines.
3. Investigate & diagnose technical problems, which involve climbing on top & underneath the heavy plant machinery.
4. Lone working.
5. Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills.
Working hours are 40 hours a week with overtime available paid at x 1.5.
In return, our client offers a competitive salary of up to £37,400.
