Invar Group supplies integrated warehouse automation solutions, including design, project management, health & safety (including CDM), and aftersales services. The Site Engineer will provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair of equipment, ensuring smooth system operation at customer sites.
Acting as a technical expert and primary contact, this role requires proactive issue resolution, performance optimization, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Shifts
* Monday to Friday, rotating shifts from 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00
* On-call requirements and overtime paid at time and a half for call-outs
How will you contribute?
Maintenance and Technical Support
* Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
* Monitor equipment performance, identify issues, and take corrective actions to prevent downtime
* Ensure all equipment is maintained per manufacturer recommendations and site requirements
On-Site Operations
* Serve as the primary technical representative at the customer site
* Provide real-time support during operations
* Coordinate with customers and external contractors for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
* Maintain a safe, organized working environment in line with site regulations
Customer Relationship Management
* Develop and maintain strong customer relationships as the first point of contact for technical queries
* Provide updates on maintenance, equipment performance, and upcoming needs
* Train customer staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance
* Handle customer concerns professionally to maintain trust and satisfaction
Documentation and Reporting
* Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used
* Submit detailed service reports and logs
* Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate replenishment
Compliance and Safety
* Adhere to health and safety standards, risk assessments, and method statements
* Ensure compliance with company policies and site regulations
* Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and practices
What will you bring?
* Proven experience in a similar engineering role, preferably in automation, manufacturing, or distribution
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
* Ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively
* Experience working on-site with direct customer interaction
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Proficiency with diagnostic tools and maintenance software
