Role Title: Lecturer in Foundation Learning
Location: Deeside
Contract Type: Full time lecturer Fixed term (June 2025)
Salary: £ 30,620 - £47,331 Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine
We currently have a vacancy for a full time lecturer to join the Foundation Learning team at Deeside. You will need to be flexible as you may have to work across campuses.
As a Foundation Learning lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of courses from Entry to Level 1 and will guide and support learners with a positive and professional manner. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with Entry and Level 1 learners and understands the challenges that this learner can bring. You will need to be able to deliver a broad curriculum that focus on developing life, employability and transferable skills to help the learners progress.
Essential Requirements
1. Qualified to a minimum of degree Level 4 in a professionally relevant subject
2. A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification.
3. Recognise and make students aware of their strengths and development needs
4. Experience of working with Entry and Level 1 learners and an understanding of he the challenges this can bring
5. Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment
6. Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom
7. To provide educational guidance, support and counselling for all students and act as a personal tutor when required
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position
