Bid Manager – Building / Construction Opportunity for a Bid Manager to join a reputable building main contractor with a long-standing reputation working on a wide range of sectors. Duties: As Bid Manager your duties will include: The role involves leading bids from receipt, to submission, at both Selection Questionnaire (SQ) / Pre-qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and tender stage (including managing pre-construction services on 2 stage schemes). This includes planning and managing tender activities, organising and chairing risk workshops and review meetings together with ensuring governance procedures are complied with and all bids are both complete and submitted on time. The writing of both pass / fail and qualitative responses for SQ, PQQ and tenders is an integral part of the role. This will include liaison with other offices, to optimise submissions for all. Preparation of submission documents and interview presentations is an essential part of the role, with the need to participate in and, if required, lead interviews. Responsible to: Pre-construction Manager Responsible for: Estimators, Planner, Design Manager, Pre-construction Administrator Locations: Office based, with visits to clients, consultants, supply chain and sites as required Requirements: To be considered for this Bid Manager role you must meet the following criteria: - Knowledge of the Building sector. - Previous employment as a Bid Manager, Bid Director or Framework Manager or Preconstruction Project Manager or Preconstruction Design Manager or similar considered. - Previous experience ideally on Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Municipal construction projects. - Previous main contractor employment history is essential. - Strong awareness of health and safety legislation. - High level of communication skills. -Contractual awareness (JCT and NEC forms) -Social value awareness -Understanding of measurement -Understanding of estimating processes -Understanding of construction programming and planning -Ideally previous experience of Single and 2 stage procurement, Frameworks, Design & Build procurement, Traditional procurement. - Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
