We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Participation Officer to play a pivotal role in the implementation and coordination of the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Initiative | Child-Friendly Cities Initiative This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working to make Westmorland & Furness more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to children’s needs and rights. As the Participation Officer, you will be instrumental in engaging with children, young people, local stakeholders, and community groups to ensure their voices and needs are central to the development of policies and programmes. Who we are looking for… A key responsibility of the role is to lead the coordination and implementation of the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Initiative across various levels of the Council and its Communities. Along with facilitating the consultation and engagement of children and young people, ensuring their views are heard and integrated into the initiative. Key Requirements A deep understanding of children’s rights, particularly the principles underpinning the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Initiative. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to work independently. Creative, proactive, and organised, with the ability to innovate and problem-solve in dynamic settings. A passion for creating positive change for children and young people in urban environments.
