About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Trials Statistician with an interest in adaptive and platform trial designs to join our dynamic team at Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (https://www.imperial.ac.uk/clinical-trials-unit/).
The role involves working on a new phase II precision medicine platform trial in critical care.
What you would be doing:
You will play a pivotal role across all stages of a clinical trial, with primary responsibility for carrying out regular Bayesian analyses of the accumulated data, which will influence adaptive design modifications such as the dropping and adding of treatment arms. You must be able to prioritise tasks and manage the workload, which will also include the writing of statistical reports, analysis plans, participation in trial committees and the presentation of results at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
What we are looking for:
* Outstanding communication and organisational skills and a dedication to delivering rapid analyses.
* An active interest in trial methodology coupled with an enthusiasm for collaborative work with researchers from diverse disciplines will be highly valued.
* The ability to operate both independently and collaboratively with fellow statisticians.
* Proficiency in task prioritisation, workload management, and eagerness to contribute to ICTU's cohesive team environment will be crucial.
* Prior experience in clinical trials and proficiency in using statistical packages, such as R and/or Stata, is essential for this role.
What we can offer you:
* A supportive team.
* The opportunity to mould a brand new and important role.
* Academic activities, such as the peer reviewing of papers for journals and contributing to the writing of grant proposals, will be encouraged.
* Additional opportunities to contribute to methodology design consultations as part of the new NIHR RSS hub (https://www.nihr.ac.uk/explore-nihr/support/research-support-service/), providing expertise in statistics.
* The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity.
* Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days off a year and generous pension schemes).
* Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day 1, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and a cycle-to-work scheme.
* Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel.
* Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources designed to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
