Band Ward Manager (Secondment)
Fancy a new challenge? We are looking for a band ward manager on a one-year secondment to lead SEU D side. D side has beds consisting of urgent care beds and surgical beds. It is a fast-paced area caring for patients with a wide variety of emergency surgical and medical conditions, including pancreatitis, bowel obstruction, and sepsis. In this busy and innovative ward, we seek an enthusiastic and committed professional with the passion and drive to lead the existing team and provide the highest quality care to patients.
The successful post holder will work closely with Ward Managers across SEU, our medical team, and all healthcare professionals. You will provide clinical leadership to nursing staff, ensuring an efficient nursing service and high standards of patient care. We welcome applications from experienced band staff wishing to develop into a band Sister/Charge nurse.
Applicants must have excellent customer care, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be flexible and adaptable to support change in this growing emergency environment. We offer a wide range of opportunities and training for personal development.

Main duties of the ward sister
The ward sister will be a highly experienced clinical leader, providing professional support and leadership to the ward team, promoting safe and effective practice, and developing the team to deliver compassionate care. Collaborating with the Matron and Operational Service Manager, the ward sister will work to enhance the patient experience.
The ward sister will:
* Use expert knowledge and clinical judgment to lead high-quality care.
* Monitor and maintain care standards and report to the Directorate.
* Ensure continuity of care.
* Assess and evaluate treatment effectiveness with patients and carers, making adjustments as needed.
* Work across professional and organizational boundaries to develop partnerships and improve healthcare delivery.
* Manage human, financial, material, and informational resources effectively.
