About the Role
Are you someone who thrives on bringing structure and clarity to complex projects? TalentTide is looking for an Estimator/Planner/Scheduler to join an innovative engineering team in Cornwall on a 6-month contract. At £23.00 per hour for 24 hours a week, you'll play a key role in supporting a business that's embarking on an exciting journey of change, complete with a brand-new system - Redthorn MRP.
This isn't just about maintaining the status quo; it's about driving progress. You'll estimate costs, plan production schedules, and implement the new system to improve workflows and forecasting accuracy. Your ability to balance big-picture strategy with fine detail will make you indispensable.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Lead the Transition: Play a pivotal role in integrating and optimising the Redthorn MRP system.
2. Estimate and Plan: Provide accurate forecasts on costs, timelines, materials, and labour to keep projects on track and competitive.
3. Collaborate: Work across engineering, sales, purchasing, and production teams to ensure seamless coordination.
4. Analyse and Adjust: Use real-time data from the production floor to refine schedules and improve processes.
5. Data Mastery: Input, manage, and generate reports from Redthorn to inform decision-making.
What You'll Bring
1. Experience: Proven background in engineering estimating, planning, and working with MRP/ERP systems. Experience with Redthorn would be a big plus.
2. Technical Skills: Ability to read engineering drawings and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes like machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing.
3. Mindset: You're proactive, detail-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment. Continuous learning and problem-solving are second nature to you.
4. Qualifications: A degree, HNC, or equivalent, or significant hands-on experience.
5. Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to ensure alignment across teams.
Why This Role? This isn't just another job - it's a chance to join a company at a turning point. You'll be instrumental in making their adoption of Redthorn a success, all while enjoying the perks of living and working in beautiful Cornwall. Working 24 hours a week you'll have plenty of time to explore the coast when you're not making an impact at work.

1. Familiarity with Redthorn or other MRP systems.
2. Experience in the offshore or marine industry.
3. A valid UK driving licence and passport.
