A vacancy has arisen for an Energy Officer to deliver, maintain and improve effective and efficient energy services in line with departmental and organisational needs.
Support the delivery of the Group's Energy aims and strategies, to ensure cost-effective sustainable energy solutions are in place across the Group.
Respond to utility and energy queries so that an efficient service is provided in accordance with policies, procedures, and relevant regulations including recommending service improvements as required.
Support the delivery of effective and efficient energy services in accordance with policies and procedures and relevant regulations, including identifying and supporting new administrative systems as required.
Support the management and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers by being a central point of contact for energy and utilities related projects.
Support the ongoing management of utility data to enable the accurate recording and reporting of energy information for the Group, ensuring it is effectively analysed to draw meaningful conclusions as to how the cost and consumption may be reduced.
Assist with the delivery of energy projects designed to enhance the services provided by the Group and which meet the needs of our customers and the wider community, maximising energy efficiency and generation.
Keep up to date with changing legislation and regulations in relation to energy efficiency and utilities, investigating and reporting on changes that will have an impact on the Group, benchmarking the service delivery of our energy efficiency agenda against other organisations.
Support the implementation of special programmes and projects in support of the Group's activities. Some travel and overnight stays required.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Able to demonstrate a level of numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of A Level or similar.
2. Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification or knowledge and ability at an equivalent level (Desirable).
3. Recent experience in a similar role.
4. Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads.
5. Recent experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
6. Working knowledge of energy legislation, regulation and good practice.
7. Some experience of undertaking research and reporting on findings.
8. Some experience of producing and analysing quality statistical information.
9. Some experience of the successful delivery of projects.
10. Practical experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
11. Excellent understanding of written and spoken English.
12. Excellent communication skills.
13. Good negotiation and presentation skills.
14. Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills.
15. Good organisational and planning skills.
16. Ability to extract and interrogate data from computer systems.
17. Working knowledge of Housing V5 or similar (Desirable).
18. Working knowledge of Keystone asset management system or similar (Desirable).
19. Intermediate Microsoft Word.
20. Basic Microsoft Excel.
21. Email and internet communications.
