Social Worker - Child Health and Disability Team

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is welcoming applications for Child Health Disability Team in its Children and Young People Services Division.
We are seeking two temporary qualified Social Workers for a period of up to 12 months to work as part of our experienced and friendly team, covering maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to utilise your knowledge, gain experience of working with children with disabilities and their families, and / or experience working in the Vale of Glamorgan. Applications are welcomed from qualified Social Workers with or without prior experience of working with children with disabilities.

As a Social Worker in the Vale of Glamorgan you will have a manageable workload, excellent support and time to spend with children and young people.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 8, SCP 26 – 30 £36,034 - £39,423 p.a. / Grade 9, SCP 31 – 35 £40,386 - £44,621 p.a. (pro rata)
Salary on appointment will depend upon qualification and experience as determined by the appointing officer. There is no automatic progression from Grade 8 to Grade 9
Hours of Work: Full time
Main Place of Work: Barry / Agile Working
About you
You will need:
· A recognised Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work i.e. Degree, DipSW, CQSW etc.
· Registration with Social Care Wales
· Experience of Social Work with children, young people and their families / carers.
· Experience of multi-agency working
· Knowledge of the principles of the Children Act, Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act, guidance and national standards.
