Principal Clinical Psychology in Neuropsychology b (Stroke Pathway)
The North Wales Brain Injury Service (NWBIS) is an inter-disciplinary neuro rehabilitation and consultation service, based at Colwyn Bay Community Hospital. It is the hub of clinical neuropsychology in the region.
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist (Band b) to become a core member of our neuropsychology team. The Post-holder will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of clinical neuropsychology services to the stroke pathway (acute, inpatient rehabilitation, and early supported discharge) across North Wales. The post holder will work closely with the Head of the North Wales Brain Injury Service, North Wales Stroke Network, Clinical Leads, and Service Managers to develop a sustainable model of clinical service delivery.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work in inpatient and community settings to offer a high quality, responsive, and patient-centred model of psychological care in an agreed locality. This will involve both line management and clinical supervision of assistant psychologists and band /a clinical psychologists and other healthcare professionals. The post holder will also work as a senior member of the service and carry a highly specialist clinical caseload.
There are excellent opportunities for continued professional development and clinical supervision and support will be offered for further training and formal education. NWBIS has close links with Bangor University and we are able to offer opportunities to contribute to research and other academic activities with the University. We are able to provide supervision and support for the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
