Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is an independent health care provider rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We deliver a pre-hospital emergency helicopter-led service across the Midlands Region, serving diverse communities in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands.
We are the largest Air Ambulance Charity in England, serving a population of nearly seven million across six counties, with over three decades of experience. Our core organisational divisions include:
1. Emergency critical care service – Our three airbases deliver rapid critical prehospital emergency medical care, ensuring residents have access to air ambulance helicopters within 10 minutes, 24/7.
2. Charitable programme – We raise funds for our lifesaving service and engage with communities through education programmes, volunteering opportunities, and social activities.
3. Retail network – Our charity shops contribute towards funding helicopter and critical care car missions while supporting environmental and ethical causes.
4. Training provider – We conduct community life skill sessions, such as CPR, and provide accredited courses ranging from workplace first aid to specialist pre-hospital clinical training.
About the role
We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our ambitious charity to ensure the smooth running of our Newcastle-Under-Lyme shop. You will assist the Shop Manager with all aspects of the charity shop, including managing volunteers, customer service, stock management, financial records, administration, and compliance. You will promote the work of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and manage the shop on Sundays and during the Shop Manager's absence. The hours of work are 6 hours on Sunday and 3+ during the week.
About you
You will have experience in supervising and working within the charity or not-for-profit sectors, alongside significant retail knowledge. Demonstrating emotional intelligence, you should be a strong team player who can inspire and motivate others. You will be highly organised, able to prioritise tasks, and possess excellent communication skills to provide outstanding customer service. As the role may involve lone working, applicants should be over 18 years of age.
