This role works 7-nights on and 14-nights off, Monday to Sunday, with shifts of 19:00-09:00. Paying up to £34,980 per year depending on experience.
Medivet Sutton 24-Hour is a busy well-established hospital. In this role you will handle our out-of-hour care within the hospital and the surrounding Medivet practices, while working alongside the dedicated night team. The hospital has a long history of providing exceptional patient/client care to our local community.
Sutton hospital is led by our Branch Partners, Michael and Paolo. Michael has a certificate in Small Animal Surgery with knowledge and expertise in all aspects of surgery including soft tissue and orthopaedics, radiography, analgesia and rehabilitation following musculoskeletal disorders. Paolo has nine years’ experience with interests in medicine, ultrasonography, endoscopy and currently working towards his certificate in Internal Medicine.
We’re proud to be feline friendly, awarded with a Gold Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic Award from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM). To support this, our practice has separate cat and dog waiting rooms, wards, consult rooms and isolation areas.
We are in close proximity to London with direct train connections to London Victoria and London Bridge with 25-30 minutes journey time.
Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:
1. Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
2. Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
3. Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
4. Deliver patient monitoring and care.
5. Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
6. Dispense and check medication.
7. Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
8. Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
