Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) is seeking a Trainee Health & Safety Officer to join our team and help ensure the safety and well-being of our colleagues, contractors, and customers.
About the Role
As a Trainee Health & Safety Officer, you will play a key role in supporting maintaining high standards of health and safety management across WCHG. You will work closely with the H&S team to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, conduct audits and inspections, manage administrative functions, and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety systems and processes
* Conduct planned audits and inspections across WCHG
* Support accident and incident investigations, ensuring lessons are learned and improvements made
* Provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters
* Manage administrative functions, including e-learning systems and lone worker safety devices
* Help deliver H&S training across the organisation
* Ensure compliance with WCHG policies.
We are looking for individuals who either are willing to work towards or are already studying for the NEBOSH General Certificate, applicants will require the commitment to undertake the training for the qualification. The post-qualification salary (currently £28,214.92 per annum) will apply for applicants who possess the qualification.
The successful candidate will have good communication skills and the ability to work with others, coupled with good ICT skills/knowledge of MS office packages. Please see the job description and person specification for further information.
