The Role
Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Legal Cashier to join our Finance (Accounts) team at our Walton Summit Office, however, the role will be initially based at our Blackburn Office. This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of hybrid working from home one day per week.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced legal cashier to bring their skills and knowledge and become part of a collaborative and professional team. While the role demands the fast pace, customer focus, and high standards of a law firm, it also ensures a sustainable work-life balance, reflecting the regional area it serves.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:
* Undertaking daily banking functions;
* Preparing online electronic bank transfers, CHAPS, BACS and Faster;
* Bank Reconciliation - Client & Business accounts;
* Administration of petty cash;
* Processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings;
* Processing client to office transfers;
* Complying with SRA rules;
* Month End SRA Compliance Folder;
* Answering internal and external accounts queries.
The Person
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:
* Previous experience in a financial role with knowledge of accounting processes;
* Attention to detail and ability to work effectively, prioritising tasks by importance to meet deadlines;
* Alignment with the Firm's values;
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
* Ability to work as part of a team;
* Strong commercial awareness;
* Proven competence in IT skills (Outlook, Word, and other systems experience);
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
* Interest in long term development/progression in the department;
* Previous experience as a Legal Cashier with knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules;
* Experience with a case management system, preferably Partner for Windows;
* Experience in identifying areas for improvement and implementing change.
