Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Team Manager, Blackpool Council, Supporting our Children Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Expected to have a good knowledge and understanding of court proceedings, know how to manage these and avoid drift and delay, comply with the requirements of the law and understand how to achieve the best possible outcome for our Children. This will not only include those children becoming looked after but those who discharge of care order or SGO is an option.
2. Support a number of social workers to work with and manage a caseload of those children subject to plans of permanence who are subject to full care orders and long term placements.
3. Have what is needed to support this service on its improvement journey, improving quality of assessments, visits, court work, placements and the lived experience of our children.
4. Focused on safeguarding children and improving their outcomes but don’t forget our employees.
5. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
6. 3 month Temporary Contract.
7. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
