Job Description:
Flexible Working: We support full-time, part-time, compressed, flexible working patterns. Due to the nature of the role home working is limited and not guaranteed.
About Us
MI6, also known as the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), protects the security and economic wellbeing of the UK from overseas threats such as regional instability, terrorism, and cyber-attacks. Working globally and in partnership with MI5 and GCHQ, we help the Government counter these threats through the provision of secret intelligence. A role in MI6 will see you providing vital support to this work, within a supportive and encouraging environment that emphasizes teamwork.
The Role
If you’re passionate about driving change and seeking a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in business change, project management, and business analysis, now is the time to join us. Whether you’re an experienced or emerging Change Analyst/Project Professional, our early Career Development Programme is designed to match your experience. You’ll advance in project analysis and business change through targeted placements tailored to your development.
You’ll engage in various project-related tasks, from stakeholder management to Business Analysis, where you’ll elicit, define, and assess user requirements using a wide range of tools. You’ll also facilitate workshops, develop process maps, conduct gap analysis, and focus on capturing benefits throughout a project’s lifecycle.
Working alongside Change Managers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts, we’ll provide you with a strong understanding of our vision, enabling you to support the planning of change implementation and ensure that change is delivered in line with our strategy. Finally, you’ll use your communication and planning skills to draft high-level communications plans, ensuring all stakeholders are on board with our vision.
About You
We’re seeking individuals who are eager to learn and grow. Ideally, you’ll have recent experience working in a project environment or in a role where you’ve applied change or analytical skills. While qualifications in a project, change, or analysis-related role would be beneficial, it’s far more important that you have a proactive approach plus some experience of working in a project environment.
You’ll be comfortable communicating with people at all levels of our organisation, demonstrating attentive listening as well as analytic and observation skills to understand stakeholder needs and analyse operational challenges. You’ll constructively challenge the status quo, showing an understanding of how we work and how we can improve.
Training and Development
When you join us, you’ll have a full induction into the organisation, helping you get to grips with how we operate. You’ll then have a team induction to give you a rounded understanding of your role, followed by on-the-job training to help you settle in.
We’re committed to developing our staff, recognizing that this will look different for everyone. There’ll be tailored training, coaching, and mentoring from experienced change and analysis professionals, alongside promotion opportunities. In addition, we’ll cover the cost and provide the opportunity to work toward professional qualifications such as APMG Change Management Foundation and Practitioner, BCS Business Analysis Diploma, or PROSCI.
Whatever your professional goals, we’ll work with you to build the skills you need to excel in your role now and throughout your career.
Rewards and Benefits
You’ll receive a starting salary of £39,709 - £42,684, dependent on skills and experience, plus other benefits including:
* 25 days Annual Leave automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service, and an additional 10.5 days public and privilege holidays
* Opportunities to be recognized through our employee performance scheme
* Interest-free season ticket loan (parking and travel)
* Excellent pension scheme
* Cycle to work scheme
* Facilities such as a gym and restaurant, and on-site coffee bars (at some locations)
* Paid parental and adoption leave
Equal Opportunities
At MI6, diversity and inclusion are critical to our mission. To protect the UK, we need a truly diverse workforce that reflects the society we serve. This includes diversity in every sense: those with different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, ways of thinking, and those with disabilities or neurodivergent conditions. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from everyone, including those from groups that are under-represented in our workforce such as women, those from an ethnic minority background, people with disabilities, and those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
