Role Overview:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all equipment and processes within our manufacturing facility. Your expertise in both mechanical and electrical engineering will be key to minimising downtime, improving efficiency, and maintaining the high-quality standards our customers expect. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive problem-solver with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on a range of machinery and production equipment.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner.
3. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure optimal machine performance.
4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
5. Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain accurate maintenance records.
7. Provide technical expertise during root cause analysis for equipment failures.
Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer, ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
4. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
5. Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
6. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
8. Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to work shifts or on-call as needed.
Qualifications:
1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
2. 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations (desirable but not essential).
3. Previous automotive or manufacturing sector experience is highly desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
