Lead Design Safety Engineer – Carbon Capture Pipeline Project
Location: Manchester (with potential alternative office location in Teesside, Wilton)
Attendance: Minimum 3 days per week in-office
This is an exciting chance to play a key role in one of the UK's first major energy transition projects, contributing to a more sustainable future. The successful candidate will support the development of a carbon capture pipeline project on Teesside, focusing on the production of a full range of technical safety deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Lead Design Safety Engineer for the Teesside decarbonisation pipeline project.
Produce high-quality technical documentation and provide input to design assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and design standards for all project phases.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure technical safety is integrated into project design.
Monitor project progress, ensuring all documentation is delivered within agreed budgets and timelines.
Key Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in Technical/Design Safety within highly regulated industries.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Proven ability to deliver comprehensive project documentation on time and within budget.
Strong knowledge of technical safety principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teams, stakeholders, and contractors effectively.
A proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing project deliverables and safety assessments.
