We are looking to appoint a CMM Inspector with industry knowledge and aerospace experience to work as part of our quality team within our machining business at our Stockport (Cheshire) site. As a CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting jobs at various stages of the machining inspection process (1st off, final inspection and FAIR inspection) in line with customer requirements (capture specific measurements from customer requirements). You will also be responsible for providing machine operators timely feedback on product non-conformities, highlighting any training needs to supervisors and assist them with any technical queries. You’ll use your experience to seek out and drive continuous improvements to identify and resolve issues within your control, also contributing towards wider continuous improvement activities. Preferred Skills Excellent communications skills are imperative. Must have good team working ethic, be highly pro-active and motivated. Ability to read and interpret 3D Models & 2D drawings. Experience in a CMM software. Ideally Camio but working knowledge of others will be taken into consideration. Excellent customer facing skills with a proactive approach to problem solving. Solid engineering background. Good understanding of the quality management systems (QMS) in either Aerospace/Automotive industry. Understanding of AS9100. FAIRS process experience preferred. Experience of various inspection tools and the ability to understand inspection reports. Good understanding of Inspection and manufacturing techniques. Experience of CNC machining is preferred. IT literate, in particular SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills (Lean/six sigma knowledge preferred). The ability to work flexible hours should the business need arise.
