We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and oversee complex M&E work packages, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for excellence, we want to hear from you!
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will:
1. Lead M&E work packages up to £10m or contribute to larger, more complex packages.
2. Manage M&E subcontractors, ensuring installation quality, safety, and compliance.
3. Oversee project planning, logistics, and sequencing to optimise efficiency.
4. Drive health, safety, and environmental standards, promoting a culture of site safety.
5. Ensure technical compliance, quality assurance, and alignment with the Building Safety Act.
6. Collaborate with key stakeholders including design teams, site managers, and external partners.
7. Monitor project progress, ensuring targets are met within budget and timeframe.
8. Support commercial teams with accurate site records and procurement forecasting.
9. Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable construction practices.
Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. Proven experience in Mechanical Project Engineering within the construction sector.
2. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.
3. Excellent understanding of M&E construction techniques, British Standards, and regulations.
4. Experience in planning, logistics, and coordination of large-scale projects.
5. A commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality in construction.
6. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
7. Proficiency in BIM and construction management software.
8. A relevant engineering qualification (Chartered status is desirable but not essential).
