Company Overview
We are a privately owned, well-established manufacturer and installer of in-situ and pre-fabricated slip resistant products. Our products feature on many well-known structures including London’s famous Tower bridge and we are looking for a dynamic and quality-focussed individual to manage our 12000m2 manufacturing facility in Pinxton, Nottinghamshire.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To assume responsibility for the overall organisation, management and control of all functions within the manufacturing department and facility of the business. To oversee and manage all production within the factory to achieve all output targets in terms of quantity, ISO quality, personnel and that all health and safety standards are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
* In conjunction with the sales and admin team, create and maintain a daily production schedule.
* In line with the daily production plan, administer and issue tasks to the production team with corresponding job cards and specification information.
* Plan and co-ordinate the space, resources, raw materials and personnel motivation to ensure production is carried out effectively.
* Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as required, ensuring customer orders are completed on time and within agreed quality standards and issue weekly updates to management.
* Oversee the final quality inspections prior to despatch.
* Carry out daily briefings and weekly team meetings.
* Ensure quality standards of manufactured products are met.
* Monitor and maintain stock levels of manufacturing materials and consumables.
* Actively participate in staff recruitment when required.
* Collaborate with the Compliance Manager Identify and implement training and development opportunities for personnel.
* Carry out annual performance reviews, and disciplinary aspects of all directly reporting operatives.
* Monitor attendance and overtime of all directly reporting operatives.
* Assist the Compliance Manager with the annual ISO9001 audit in relation to documentation, calibration and PAT testing of equipment.
* Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that plant and equipment is effectively maintained to ensure maximum efficiency.
* Challenge and review processes and procedures, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to reduce costs whilst maintaining quality and safety.
* Assist the Compliance Manager with internal audits, in the investigation and resolution of any complaints or non-conformances and with the annual ISO9001 audit in relation to documentation, calibration and PAT testing of equipment.
* Participate in meetings as required.
* Carry out any additional tasks or projects as required by the Operations Director.

Qualification and skills Required:
Essential
* Strong proven experience of team leadership and resource planning within a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within own and other departments.
* Highly motivated, solution, results and quality driven.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to motivate and manage people with various skills and relish the challenge of working in a growing and demanding manufacturing environment.
* IT literate, excel, word and outlook.
* Demonstrate effective leadership and be highly visible to all employees.
Desirable but not essential
* First aid at work certificate
* Counter balance forklift licence
* 1 year production experience (shop floor)
* 2 years production management/team leadership experience
Additional information
This role is Monday to Friday, 7.30am- 4.30pm with very occasional overtime to meet deadlines.
Benefits:
Salary range £34k-£40k per annum.
20 days annual holiday entitlement increasing with length of continuous service to a maximum of 25 days per year.
Company pension contribution of 3% of total income.
