We are now seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Lead GP to join Portland Medical Centre. The Role
This role is primarily supervisory, based in the clinical hub, where the Clinical Lead GP will oversee the day-to-day running of the practice alongside the senior management team and executive partners.
Key responsibilities include
• Triaging patient requests and leading the clinical hub team.
• Coordinating clinical workflows
• Providing clinical oversight for allied health professionals (AHPs)
• Ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
• Chairing clinical meetings
• Support quality improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with governance frameworks
• While there will be some direct patient care, the focus will be on leadership, supervision, and strategic coordination to maintain high clinical standards and operational efficiency.
Personal Specifications:
• Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
• Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Enjoy working within a large clinical team
• Interest in a chronic disease.
• GP trainer or commitment to become a trainer within 2 years
Experience
• UK Professional Registration (e.g. GMC)
• Completion of MRCGP and minimum 2 years of General Practice experience
• Experience with video/telephone consultations
• Proficiency in using EMIS and other IT
• Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
• Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
• Ability to always maintain confidentiality
