Progressive Engineering and a European Engineering OEM in Complex Mechanical Handling, Process Systems & Machinery Engineering are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Engineering & Manufacturing HQ in Wolverhampton, owing to project workload for 2024-2026+.
Based in Wolverhampton and reporting to the Mechanical Design Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will work on the design & delivery of complex mechanical handling, machinery & process systems for heavy-regulated applications in the Nuclear Sector (including Nuclear Defence, New Build, Modular Reactor & Fusion / Fission Energy Projects).
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Automotive, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, etc.)
* Prior experience as Mechanical Design Engineer
* Experience in the full design lifecycle, from concept through manufacture and commissioning
* Experience designing Machinery, Mechanical Handling Systems, Hydraulics, Heavy Fabricated Structures, Landing Gear, Complex Mechanical Assemblies, Bulk Handling Systems, Oil & Gas Engineered Systems for regulated applications
* Proficiency with 3D CAD, FEA Software, and Hand Calculations for validation
* Knowledge of British and European Technical and Legislative standards
For the successful Mechanical Design Engineer, a salary up to £40,500 is offered. The role is commutable from Wolverhampton, Dudley, West Brom, Birmingham, Telford, Cannock, Stafford, Stourbridge. The company supports a hybrid & flexible working policy for its Engineers.
