Role and Purpose:
As a Technical Artist, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between art and technology to create visually stunning and optimised game experiences. Collaborating with artists, designers, and developers, you will help implement art assets into the game engine, develop tools, create pipelines, and contribute to the overall visual quality and performance of the game.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement and maintain efficient workflows, tools and pipelines for the art team.
* Develop tools to assist asset optimisation and to ensure assets conform to technical requirements.
* Evaluate and decide which software and tools are required for optimal game production.
* Review current and emerging technologies and technical developments for inclusion in the artistic pipeline.
* Collaborate with the development team to optimise art assets and ensure efficient rendering.
* Research and oversee the implementation of rendering techniques.
* Develop performance of frame rate and memory.
* Resolve material errors and collision issues.
* Monitor the performance of the game.
* Maintain technical documentation.
* Share best practices and be the missing link between art and programming.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of high-end coding languages.
* High attention to detail.
* Solid understanding of art and animation pipelines.
* Strong technical proficiency in Unreal, including materials and Blueprints.
* High level artistic skills – proportion, colour, composition.
* Excellent understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) art pipelines.
* Rendering and post-effects experience.
* Solid understanding of rigging and animation.
