What skills and experience we're looking for
Do you have a passion for making a difference in children’s lives? Are you enthusiastic about sport, health and fitness and have a proven track record of coaching children or young people? The Governors of College Road Primary School are currently seeking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiastic, compassionate Teaching Assistant and Sports Coach to work within our creative, happy school, to support our pupils and help them thrive.
We are looking to appoint a committed individual to join our established and successful team. The role will include supporting learning within class, working with children who need additional support, running learning interventions, as well as preparing resources and assisting teachers in the day-to-day management of the classroom. It will also involve coaching Key Stage 2 children in a range of sports, ‘change for life’ activities and coaching children for sports competitions.
The person appointed will need to be flexible and resourceful. Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage, especially experience of teaching phonics using Read Write Inc, although not essential as training could be provided. A sports coaching qualification or coaching experience would be an advantage, and the ability to lead a whole class in PE is essential. We are looking for someone in our friendly, values-based school, who is child-centred, uses a trauma-informed relational approach, has high expectations, and embraces a positive, fair approach to behaviour management.
