Role
PURPOSE OF THE POST
* To work as part of the Women’s Support (WS) team to support and empower women who have experience of domestic abuse, providing a quality service that meets legal requirements and DWA standards, policies, and guidelines.
* To promote the work of DWA in the local and wider community and work in partnership with others to develop services and provide support within the community.
* To work with a wide range of women who may have complex needs.
* To participate as part of the team in the ongoing development of services to abused women, whether in refuge, re-housed from refuge, or through the outreach service.

Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.
The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).

Candidates should have a good understanding of working with people who have experienced trauma, have experience in providing direct support, and possess excellent communication skills.
