We are looking for an experienced female Senior Healthcare Worker to join our 24hr care team in Potters Bar, providing round-the-clock NHS funded paralysis care in the family home.
This is a fixed rota position of 19hrs per week, specifically on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 6:30pm.
Shifts include a comprehensive task schedule for each staff member (both Senior and HCA). We seek staff who can work collaboratively to create a calming and comfortable environment for high-quality care and support. A staff knowledge portal provides access to care plans and staff information.
The client is a retired female with acquired neck-down paralysis and neurological conditions. Experience with advanced MS and osteoporosis is beneficial, but more importantly, she values a conscientious work ethic, attention to detail, and a good sense of humour.
Candidates must be female (intimate personal care is required) and possess confidence in their hoisting and manual positioning skills. A current Right to Work share code is required (we are not registered for sponsorship, and all candidates must currently reside in the UK) along with an enhanced DBS check.
The role has a split focus: 3 periods of hands-on care, overseeing comprehensive personal care including coloplast support, LVR breathing therapy, structured physio exercises, and postural alignment. In between hands-on care, the senior role concentrates on healthcare administration, following up on medical appointments, chasing updates on equipment, completing H&S checks, and ensuring medication and PPE stock levels. The role is sole charge from 3pm to 4pm and requires staff to provide a handover in person to the incoming staff at 4pm.
Candidates must go through a telephone interview on Tuesday, 29th Oct, followed by a paperwork review and an in-person meeting with the client at their home on a mutually convenient day.
