We’re seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision school in January that offers tailored education for students who need additional support to thrive. You’ll be working in a supportive and inclusive environment, providing vital assistance to students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs. Your role will involve building strong relationships, helping students engage in their education, and supporting them both academically and emotionally. This is a full-time position, perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about creating positive change and helping students make progress in all aspects of life. Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support in the classroom. Help students manage their behaviour and develop emotional resilience. Assist with lessons and ensure students stay engaged with their learning. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create an individualised approach for each student. Promote a safe and positive learning environment. Requirements Experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students. A strong understanding of safeguarding practices. Level 2/3 TA qualification (preferred but not essential).
