The Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Erlestoke is seeking innovative Teachers/Tutors to deliver to a diverse group of learners, helping to build confidence, develop skills, and achieve within a college environment. We are looking for candidates interested in variable hours, on an ad-hoc basis, who are keen to explore Prison Education.
HMP Erlestoke is currently looking for individuals with one or more of the below skill sets to support their curriculum delivery:
* Functional Skills English – Entry 1 to Level 2
* Functional Skills Maths – Entry 1 to Level 2
* IT/Digital Skills
* Art
* Customer Service
A teaching qualification would be desirable; however, those willing to work towards it and hold supporting subject specialism at degree level or equivalent, or industry experience, would also be considered. Training will be provided to help you achieve your full potential.

HMP Erlestoke is a Category C prison, holding approximately 444 adult male sentenced offenders. The focus is on reducing re-offending and preventing future victims of crime by preparing offenders for their release through accredited intervention programmes, skill and vocational-based training, and education, in a pro-social environment.
Courses at HMP Erlestoke include Maths, English, IT, Horticulture, Carpentry, Cleaning, Cookery, Creative Craft, Personal and Development Skills, and much more. The education hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 11.15am, and 1.45pm – 4.45pm, with Fridays from 8.30am – 11.15am.
Involved with projects including “Reading Ahead,” where Erlestoke achieved a double gold award for over 500 completions, as well as participating in the “Inside Out” project and “Chain Gang” creative writing class. HMP Erlestoke achieved “Good” in their most recent Ofsted inspection and strives to provide a safe, decent, and secure environment for offenders, staff, and visitors.
