Temporary Assistant Head of Information Services
We welcome applications for this support post to commence 6th May 2025 for a period of one year, to cover a period of maternity leave.
The Role
To co-ordinate the collation and input of core data, applying relevant quality assurance processes, and the production of the funding returns for the College and LUSoM according to published timeframes and deadlines.
Manipulate, interpret and analyse data sets, drawing valid conclusions, and projecting and modelling outcomes.
Assisting with the delivery of projects within the Information Services Development strategy, liaising with stakeholders, contributing to the development of solutions, and delivering these to end users.

You will lead collaborative projects, liaising with other teams to develop innovative data and process solutions.
The Information Services team ensures quality information and analysis is available to all stakeholders, as a foundation for effective decision-making. This is integral to our mission of being a centre of educational excellence for our student and staff communities.
The team provide an exceptional and responsive information and data service, with our team members leading key areas including data/information management and processes, development projects, planning, reporting insights and analysis, system integration and data transformation.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
Co-ordinate the data collection, recording and data quality processes for key areas, ensuring that the information captured meets requirements for external returns and audits, and that any omissions or inaccuracies in the data are identified and resolved within the team.
Work closely with Head of Information Services to prepare, validate, quality assure and submit funding and data returns, applying relevant funding methodology principles to all recorded data and ensuring that all external deadlines are met with sufficient time to identify any risks or issues to be resolved.
Lead on elements of the internal assessment framework; planning, setup and reporting.
Contribute to the delivery of projects in the Information Services Development strategy, liaising with stakeholders, and facilitating the development and implementation of solutions.
Develop and maintain a central timetable for all external returns and reporting requirements as part of the wider Information Services Data Cycle, horizon-scanning for changes made by external bodies and upcoming deadlines.

The Successful Candidate
Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic and experienced candidate to join our friendly and well established Information Services department.
The Information Services department is looking for someone who has a minimum of 2 A levels or level 3 equivalent, experience of working with information or data systems, managing and maintaining data and detailed working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Office.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Terms and Conditions
Hours: 37 hours per week, full year. Starting and finishing times as agreed. Part time requests will be considered.
Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at points 19 to 21- £35,158 to £37,401 per annum.
