Tree Officer needed in Yeovil Paying £30.34 per hr Ref 1461702
Responsibilities:
* Prepare new tree preservation orders and update old ones as necessary, including conducting surveys, preparing reports, handling objections, and maintaining records efficiently.
* Consider and process notifications for the removal of hedgerows in the open countryside, preparing technical reports as needed.
* Support Planning Enforcement in investigating unauthorised tree works or hedgerow removals.
* Advise on responses to unauthorised works to trees under TPO or within a Conservation Area, and appear as a technical expert at inquiries, hearings, or court cases.
* Provide advice on planning applications and discharge of conditions, including complex and contentious applications and projects.
* Prepare reports and present evidence as a technical expert through written representation, at hearings, and at planning inquiries.
* Present reports to committee meetings, officers, and public groups as necessary.
* Provide arboricultural advice and expert services independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Advise other departments on the employment of arboricultural consultants and contractors.
* Provide specialist arboricultural advice as part of the preparation of planning policies and development briefs to ensure trees are considered and a high-quality environment is achieved.
