NHSSomerset is looking to recruit a Band 5 Commissioning Support Officer to jointhe organisation. The post holder will be part of a small, friendly andsupportive team and will be a key commissioning support role for the Urgent andEmergency Care Team.
Thepost supports commissioning activities including being the key point of contactfor a number of projects, holding action logs, drafting communications andother documentation. The role offers a good overview of commissioning work andis a good step for someone looking to develop a career in the Integrated CareBoard.

Main duties of the job
You will have excellent organisational skills and a sound, working knowledge of MS office packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Excel etc., alongside excellent communication skills both written, face-to-face and over the telephone. You will have the ability to organise and prioritise work along with an understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality.
This post requires someone who has excellent administrative skills, the ability to work to deadlines and is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Candidates are expected to have a good understanding of the health and social care environment.
The ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team and independently is pivotal to the success of this post.
You will be able to demonstrate the attributes and capabilities required for the post as outlined in the job description and person specification.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The post holder is a key member ofthe team whose over-arching goal is to ensure commissioning arrangements are inplace to deliver a sustainable and high-quality integrated health and socialcare system by enabling, promoting and supporting the effective use of data,information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support aportfolio of projects, services, and initiatives.
Provide high quality commissioningsupport in terms of analysis of demand and usage data, value for money reviewsand other general support to Service Leads within the Urgent and Emergency Careteam.
Provide high quality project,service, initiative and administrative support including information andanalysis. The post holder will undertakereporting and analysis of information to support delivery.
Support the Associate Director of Urgentand Emergency Care on issues relating to directorate functions and businessdelivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIESOF THE ROLE:
Operational Responsibility
Support,facilitate and coordinate of the development of commissioning strategy,operating plans and business functions through liaison and communication withinternal and external stakeholders
Contributeto the development processes ICB authorisation, use of resources, etc byproviding support to the assessment process
Coordinatethe production of team communications, sometimes complex and often sensitive tothe expected audience of both internal and external stakeholders, in order tosupport effective integration of work programmes
Manageand support the implementation of change projects, implementing project datacollection systems that will provide accurate and timely information
Providebusiness support to a range of groups related to strategy and business planning
Contributeto service reviews - collating and analysing data, investigating service issuesand research best practice from a range of facts/situation
Developand maintain productive relationships with a broad range of internal andexternal stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to commissioning
Supportpatient and public engagement in the development of the commissioning strategy,business plans and programmes of care making adjustments as required
