To be responsible for the receipt and distribution of Sterile Surgical Instrumentation and the collection and dispatch of used/soiled Surgical Instrumentation to and from all areas of Trust. To be responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation movement is recorded using specialist computer database software and scanning equipment. To manually handle incoming and outgoing goods as required. To ensure that a complete, efficient and auditable stock control system is maintained.
We have two part-time positions available, 25 hours per week. Cross-site rotation and weekend working on a rota basis is required.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the maintenance of tray history records and all associated spreadsheets and files. To be responsible for checking and amending the data produced by service users in relation to tray history. To be responsible for raising purchase orders for supplies.
* Delivery of clean sterile trays to Theatre areas.
* Collection of dirty sterile trays for return to outsourced provider.
* Booking in of equipment to ensure effective tray management.
* Record and manage missing trays and discrepancies.
* Checking of incoming deliveries to ensure compliance.
* Close working with Theatre areas to ensure appropriate stock management.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Experience / Skills
* Proven experience of a working environment that requires attention to detail and accuracy
* Data Entry Skills
* Ability to compare data from different sources and make decisions on this data.
* Experience of using computers including Microsoft Word and Excel
* Experience of working in a hospital environment
