We are offering Funded Training on upcoming NPLQ courses The role of a Lifeguard: Being a lifeguard is a responsible job, it looks great on a CV or University application and can provide many transferable skills for your future career. It is also a fun and engaging role at the centre of your community where you can help to bring health and wellbeing to your local area. We are currently recruiting contracted hours starting from 20 hours up to 40 hours per week. You will required to work a range of shifts patterns including evenings and weekends. Lifeguards have one of the most important jobs at our centres, and that is keeping our customers safe in and around the water. Our Lifeguards also perform other duties, such as cleaning assigned areas, setting up and breaking down various activities and events, and conducting pool testing according to procedures. If you are interested in a career in leisure, Active Life also has fantastic training programmes that, with our partners, can lead to Bachelors and even Masters level qualifications. We are passionate about delivering the best customer service and getting your community active. Every Active Life team member plays their part, working within a diverse and dynamic team, in a fast-paced environment. What we are looking for: No experience is necessary, however in order to be considered for a Lifeguard position with Active Life you need to be an able swimmer with excellent customer service skills. You should also be able to: Swim on your front and back Swim 50m in under 60 seconds Swim 200 meters continuously Climb out of the pool unaided without using steps or a ladder The ability to pass a NPLQ course You will need to pass an interview and our swim competency assessments to be offered a funded place on the course. This is a 5 day course and you will need to be available for all 5 days.
