Our Project Services business in Rochester is looking for an Electronics Engineer to join the Design and Product Support team. This dynamic business delivers sophisticated metering and data acquisition solutions, supporting the power and energy sector. As part of the team, you will provide proactive product support, training for customers, and assistance with project delivery and field installations/commissioning. Our portfolio includes both hardware and software solutions, developed in-house or sourced from trusted third-party suppliers. We specialize in complex network solutions, Dynamic System Monitoring, Power Quality, and Generator Performance Monitoring. Key Responsibilities Provide internal training to Design Engineers and Field teams on products and solutions. Interact daily with internal and external clients to resolve a range of issues, from simple to complex network, protocol, interfacing, and data challenges. Create and maintain reference and training documents. Assist with system configuration to ensure compliance with specifications (primarily workshop-based, with occasional site visits—full UK driving license required). Engage with clients at the pre-sales stage. Occasionally conduct Factory Acceptance testing in the presence of customers. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and configuration issues. Required Skills & Experience Degree or equivalent qualification in an electronic engineering discipline or similar. Excellent written and spoken English. Strong problem-solving skills and an engineering curiosity mindset. Good understanding of network products and systems (configuring switches, VLANs, etc.) with hands-on experience. Strong capabilities with PC applications (Windows and manufacturer-specific software). Knowledge of Cyber Security principles is an advantage. Good understanding of electronic hardware and interfacing (RS232, RS485, microprocessors, etc.). Ability to turn concepts into repeatable working solutions. Experience with communication protocols such as IEC104, Modbus, DLMS is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with internal and external customers.
