We are looking for a highly motivated Registered Band 5 Nurse to join a supportive team on the Acute Stroke Unit. The Acute Stroke Unit is based at Royal Blackburn Hospital and has support from the dedicated stroke rehabilitation unit at Pendle Community Hospital. The successful candidate can rotate between the 2 units. Opportunities will also be provided to attend bespoke stroke study days and to spend time shadowing the stroke specialist nurses and consultant nurses in our Emergency Department. Additionally, opportunities may be available to partake in the stroke module held at Uclan.
All patients admitted as suspected strokes are seen in ED by the stroke team and admitted directly to the Acute Stroke Unit. The successful candidate will receive support and guidance on managing complex stroke medication therapies such as thrombolysis care, Labetalol and GTN infusions, and telemetry monitoring.

* 0 months post-qualification work experience in a nursing role.
* Basic management ability / ability to coordinate/manage shifts.
