Job Description Systems Integration Engineer SNBG 7 - 10 Bristol Full Time An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Integration Engineer to join the Defence Rigs team. The Defence Rigs team define, support, and execute experimental rigs to deliver quality-assured data to our customers, supporting the development of new technologies and hardware across both Development and Legacy projects in the Defence Sector. The Rig Systems Integrator is responsible for ensuring the Test Article, Rig Vehicle, Support Equipment and Test Facility subsystems function together when combined to form an optimised, compliant rig system. You will liaise with the Rigs Management Engineers, Rigs Design Leads, Rigs Customers and External Suppliers to oversee the system-level technical solution of complex rigs throughout the full project lifecycle, in line with the ETA (Experiment Technical Approval) and DTA (Design Technical Approval) processes. What you will be doing Extract, generate, manage and integrate robust technical requirements from a range of engineering stakeholders to define and develop holistic, integrated solutions using Systems Engineering principles to enable the execution of successful test campaigns and delivery of data. Identify and resolve emergent issues and manage interfaces as the system and sub-system designs mature, whilst understanding the effects and impacts of change on neighboring subsystems. Function as an ‘intelligent supplier’, supporting the customer and suppliers to understand the art of the possible. Define and support V&V activities to demonstrate compliance of the resulting system to the original requirements. Support all aspects of rig safety during the design phase to ensure rigs can be operated in compliance with HS&E requirements. Develop and maintain appropriate tools and frameworks to optimise the design and management of integrated rig systems. Support and coach the team and its stakeholders regarding Systems Engineering and driving the right V&V behaviours. Who we’re looking for Knowledge and experience of test campaigns, techniques, engineering standards and processes for gas turbines and associated technologies. Knowledge and experience of requirements generation, interface management, risk management and FMEA processes. Strong customer facing interpersonal skills with the ability to lead integrated teams and manage external suppliers and stakeholders. Comfortable working with ambiguous and changing requirements; strong ability to breakdown complex problems into simpler elements. Organised individual with the ability to prioritise. Strong Communication Skills with a continuous improvement, growth mindset.
