About Shoreham Port
Shoreham Port operates 24/7 365 days of the year within a fascinating and complex operational environment, where no two days are the same! Our Port is located in the South-East of England, ideally situated for short-sea shipping and handling a variety of key cargoes from the UK and Europe including timber, steel, aggregates, bulks and glass, as well as petroleum, woodchip and cereals. We offer outstanding ships agency, freight forwarding and customs clearance services as well as extensive discharge and storage facilities.
Key tasks
* Support the transition to our new bespoke software – ‘ShoreTrace’.
* Compile charts, tables and other elements of data visualisation – helping to highlight opportunities for improvement.
* Support further steps towards digitalisation of key processes, reviewing current systems.
* Lead on the streamlining of internal operational processes, to improve the overall efficiency of the Port.
* Tracking and analysing operational costs and profit margins, identifying ways to optimise profit and reduce costs.
* Working across teams to ensure that commercial agreements are aligned with operational delivery and service level requirements.
Key skills
* Numerate and appreciative of the power of data to drive decision making.
* Enthusiastic, logical thinker who is willing to question and challenge established processes.
* Ability to communicate effectively and influence at different levels of the organisation, forming strong working relationships.
* IT fluent with strong Power-BI skills and the use of dashboards.
* Ability to innovate and implement – combining analytical perspectives with a pragmatic approach.
* Confident energising new projects whilst also ensuring thorough and timely completion.
* At ease presenting to both internal and external audiences.
* Previous experience in a related sector desirable but not essential – operations production or manufacturing.

Course entry requirements
* A minimum of Grade 6 in Maths and English at GCSE.
* 3 A-Levels at Grade B or above.
* A 42-month commitment to the course including attendance at University combined with online learning and studying in your own time.
