The role: To cook a simple vegetarian soup/ main and/or pudding (about 15-35 portions).
Responsibilities: To help prepare, serve and clear a lunch for local families (ideally to purchase ingredients - expenses available).
Up to 3 hrs probably Monday or Tuesday - from 1 - 4 weeks per month.
Cooking in an Environmental Health approved kitchen such as in the Crypt cafe beneath St Mary's church.
Requirements:
1. Knowledge: Confidentiality (Desirable)
2. Skills: Cookery, Customer service, Attention to detail, Team work, Communication (verbal), Able to follow policy and procedure, Conflict resolution skills and Interpersonal skills (Desirable)
3. Experience: Cookery (to recipe), shopping, Hospitality (Desirable)
4. Personal Attributes: Friendly, Responsible, Reliable, Consistency, Flexibility/adaptability (Desirable)
5. Qualifications/Training: Food safety (env health approval - home kitchen if needed), Safeguarding (- free online course or can be done in person), Data Protection (Desirable), First Aid (Desirable)
6. Availability: One - four afternoons per month (flexible)
7. Check: References and probably Enhanced DBS check required: children & adult
Support:
Induction, termly meetings, feedback. A supportive team of up to 20 volunteers with 5-6 working each week, you will be alongside another Cook and will be offered recipes and resources required. Reasonable adjustments as required.
