Document Controller
Location: Leeds
Start Date: April 2025
Duration: Ongoing
Rate: £17 per hour
I am working with a tier one contractor who boasts a balance sheet of close to £500m and a turnover of around £1bn. The company operates Nationwide and projects range from £20m+. They are looking for a Document Controller to join their site team on one of their new projects in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Document Management:
1. Manage the flow of all project documentation (drawings, contracts, reports, etc.).
2. Ensure documents are filed, cataloged, and stored properly, both digitally and physically.
3. Implement and maintain a document control system that aligns with company standards and project requirements.
4. Track the progress and status of all documents, ensuring updates and revisions are accurately reflected.
2. Coordination and Communication:
1. Act as a point of contact for all documentation-related inquiries from project team members, contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
2. Assist in the preparation and distribution of project documents to relevant parties.
3. Ensure timely submission of documentation as per project deadlines.
3. Compliance and Quality Control:
1. Ensure that all documents meet legal, regulatory, and contractual standards.
2. Monitor adherence to the project's quality assurance procedures for document management.
4. Reporting and Support:
1. Assist in the preparation of document-related reports for senior management.
2. Support the project team with ad-hoc document requests and ensure compliance with internal document control processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Document Controller in construction, particularly in large-scale projects.
2. Strong understanding of document control systems and software (e.g., Procore, Aconex, 4Projects or similar).
3. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
4. Knowledge of construction documentation processes, regulations, and standards.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
6. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Desired Experience:
1. Experience working on £20m+ building sites or similarly large-scale construction projects.
2. Understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) documentation would be an advantage.
