Sister/Charge Nurse - Stamford Unit.
Band 6 - Permanent - 36 hours
This is an exciting time at Tameside Hospital. We currently have vacancies within the Stamford Unit to support our patients who have Rehabilitation and complex Discharge needs.
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Ward Sister / Charge Nurse, who is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual ready for an exciting new experience to join a dynamic Team. This is an excellent development opportunity based at Stamford Unit, a community ward leading on rehabilitation working within a close MDT ethos. Leading in discharge planning and supporting the team to achieve an excellent skills/learning environment.
They will support the Unit Manager in the day-to-day running of the unit based within the Stamford Unit. This will include, together with the unit manager, being responsible for the professional and clinical leadership of all the staff within the department, ensuring quality and high standards are delivered and patient safety is maintained.
This is a key post with the successful candidate providing strong nursing leadership and management, whilst supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care to our patients. We are looking for dynamic and innovative nurse leaders who role model excellent standards of nursing care that embody the behaviours and values of the trust.
The Stamford unit aims to identify the best possible discharge destination for all our patients. Discharge planning will continue on transfer and ongoing care and support arranged for all patients. Patients will be cared for by a skilled team of professional staff, who are competent in their roles, are approachable, and able to provide information, support, and advice.
Within the Stamford unit, we aim to provide individualised care in a dignified and confidential manner identifying physical, social, and psychological needs of patients and their families/carers. The patient’s right to privacy will be respected, and every effort will be made to maintain this.
We will do this by working in a safe and secure environment where care needs are assessed, planned, and implemented in partnership with all concerned – whilst at the same time respecting patients’ rights as individuals, acknowledging individual beliefs and values, and supporting individual choices made.
